My NF was yesterday and my doctor is sending me home today. I am a little afraid of going home so soon. He progressed me to soft diet already, I am scared of that too. But, I can burp! I am so happy about that!

Hi gtnbr,
Welcome to the yeah yeah yeah Wrapped Club!! yeah yeah yeah Be glad you're going home...it's the best place to recover.  Also, the sooner you're out of the hospital, the safer it is for you.  Hospitals do a lot of good things for us, but it's easy to catch something, and they don't let you sleep at all!
Make yourself a nice comfy spot on the couch and get some R & R!  Don't forget to get up and walk, so you can alleviate that shoulder pain.
We're here to support you through you recovery!
Happy healing,

Hi gtnbtr,

That is great news that you can burp! One of the scariest things to me about this surgery is the inability to burp to relieve gas pressure! If you don't mind me asking, who did your surgery? please keep us updated on your progress!

Welcome to the Wrapped Club! yeah turn yeah

I was released from the hospital on a soft diet all 3 times. Just be sure to chew really well and go slow. Being able to burp is a definite plus.

Take care,
