Hi all, now it has been 12 days, I have a new symptom, not pleasant, but I have severe diarrhea. I have to be right near the toilet, does any one else have that? if so, how long does it last! I also have severe, sharp pain over the top incision. It looks clean, no swelling or redness, but the pain is new.

What you are experiencing is dumping. It usually resolves itself with time. The upper incisions can be the worst, especially the left one. They are near the ribs and depending how close they get worked over pretty good. I have also had these sharp pains as nerves were growing back.
You are heading into the peak swelling and can expect to have several weird issues to pop up until this subsides.
Take care,
Bill

Yeah it's dumping. What is happening is your GI system is out of whack and food is going through your system too fast. The only thing I know of to avoid is surgary things.
Your insides are also swollen from the gas and it causes your gut to react as well. Once this subsides it starts to get better

Take care,
Bill

Hi gtnbr,

If you're experiencing dumping, (it's very common with stomach surgery...I had it, too). As Bill said, be sure to stay away from sugars as much as possible, as they're triggers.  Here's a link to an anti-dumping diet:

Hang in there, it gets better!
Happy healing,
