Just in the past couple of months I was diagnost with GERD. I've been dealing with this all alone. I've been in and out of the ER with joint pain, chest pain, anxiety, and just when I thought I was alone with this GERD crap I found this site and reading everyones posts knowing HEY I'M NOT NUTS!! These are real symptoms from GERD! I just wish I could find a med that would work for me. Right now I'm on 40 md of Pantoprazole Sodium Tablet. This past month I've had head to toe joint pain and chest pain.
So here are my questions and I really hope I can get some answers from fellow GERDers.
1) Joint pain what works for this? Tylenol is the only thing I can really take
2) When you get the chest discomfort what works for this?
3) Meal planning any websites or cookbooks for us?
4) Dietitans? Has anyone seen one for GERD and what advice do they give?
Hope to hear from you soon!!! Thank you!!!

Have you made any diet changes? Have you had any testing done from a GI dr? There are members here that use the kaufman diet and some others use the fast track. Have you tried any supplements?

Been doing some diet changes. Went online to get more info about what I should and shouldn't have. Which for be being a chef is hard to avoid certain foods BUT I need to do it. Haven't had testing done yet from a GI WHICH actually I was going to talk to my doctor about getting this done. What supplements are there for this and what do they do? this is all overwhelming and new to me. I'm just glad to know that there is this kind of support. Thank you!

gerdgirl, I've met with a dietitian, but I can not say that I was satisfied with this meeting - I have not learned anything new, I learn more about GERD from the Internet.

Hey Gerdgirl, I'm new at Gerd and the forum as well but I may help you with a couple of things. I have the same symptoms, joint pain (but mostly around the breast area) chest pain/burning and anxiety. For the joint pain, I use the Movelat gel which works great for me! For the chest discomfort/burning I'm still trying to understand my triggers cuz it's very confusing! It comes and goes at any time! But I've tried Gaviscon, and Aloe which are good. I've also gone to a dietician and she told me that its good to avoid any sweets that come with syrup cuz they may irritate the les valve, also avoid fresh carrots and carrot juice, and follow a blant diet for some time hoping it can help (no sweets at all) I'm still in the process so don't know for sure if it helps
