Ok..I am glad I found this site.I hope all you guys may help me out with this pblm.
I have a feeling of food touching my throat.I can feel the food down the throat.I want to burp so that I can feel relaxed.Sometimes burp would come naturally or sometimes I have to swallow some air to get the burp and with the burp  I can find some food particles in my mouth with sour  taste and at times  just food particles with  saliva.I don't understand why the food is coming into the mouth even after several hours of eating. The burp sometimes comes from the chest and is loud (embarassing).I have tightness in my throat and sometimes drying sensation of my throat.I am also dealing with minor stomach ailments.I am scared to eat food and feel week and dizzy.
I had a miscarriage 2 months back and I thought that pregnancy could cause these symptoms. But I have this pblm even after 2 months which shows there is something else going on.My pcp put me on prevacid yesterday.
I want to know if any one of you experience these symptoms and if this reflux.Pls guys..help me.

Generally these symtoms are of GERD due to hetial hernia. Medicine which you have started, previcid, will give you some relief. But I feel you consult GE Specialist immediately, becauase your present symtoms will lead to complications if not tackled.

Any way welcome to the Forum

9th heaven. Welcome. I would just like to say I don`t know if this is GERD or some kind of reaction from your miscarraige. I am very sorry to hear about your loss, this could affect you in different ways. But I would advise anyone not to start PPI`s unless absolutely necessary. It seems to me they are impossible to get off, once started. I would like to know if anyone has come off them, after being on them for a while. Vanessa

Welcome 9thheaven,
I agree that you should have all of the tests done to rule out hiatal hernia, gallbladder problems, pancreatis or something else. Burping bile which may be what it could be also is usually caused by a stone that is blocking a bile duct so I would demand tests.

vanessa,
I know what you mean about the PPI's. Seems to be a love/hate relationship with them. I am on and off of them because after a while they don't seem to do anything anymore and then when I can't take the pain anymore I start them all over again. Seems like a catch 22 though because when you get off of them, your GERD symptoms seem to be worse (kind of like rebound headaches when you get off of your daily painkillers).

Thank you all  for your time.I have had all the blood work done and everything turned out fine.My doctor ordered some blood work for liver, kidneys etc and found everything alright.Do you think these blood tests would reveal  any pblms like gall bladder/ hernia or scanning and xrays are the only means to examine these issues.I am 24 and weigh 145 pounds with 5.5 height.

Only possiblity my pcp thought was this acid reflux which i am not totally convinced.I have an appointment with G.E after 2 weeks.I am going crazy with all the weird thoughts.

I appreciate your answers.

Thanks.

Hi dbab. Thanks for the reply. I am sure I will never get off them. If I miss one tablet I feel terrible. I wake up choking and coughing and my throat is really sore. I would really like to know if anyones got off them without an operation to repair the hernia. Vanessa
