Question.  I keep seeing many on here recommend carafate for gastritis.  I was in the US recently and when I asked the pharmasict at Target if they had it, they said it was prescription.  Is it over the counter or any equivalant?

I am currently taking one tecta / day (PPI),  and use zantac and a nausea medication when needed.  My GI only prescribed the nausea pill and will not jump at prescribing anything else (it is actually my rheumatologist that prescribed the PPI to take if i want to take celebrex...to take together)

Ulcerative Colitis 1988, had colon removed and now jpouch
Now sufer from sacroiliitis and inflammation of piriformis muscle causing sciatica like pain during flare ups. Joints very bad...take celebrex when needed.
Suffer from asthma (only triggered when I get a cold) and stuffed sinuses.
Now also suffer from gastritis.

In the US it's by prescription only, I'm not sure in Canada or UK.
