Hi Gerdies/ Gordies,

So I'm 6 months post Nissen, I posted about the pain I'm having and the spasms, difficulty swallowing and stuff the other day.
Saw my GI today and he basically said I've just got to deal with it. He said I have a hypersensitive oesophagus and therefore this is what happens. The back pain I get is new since the op but he just says its all IBS because IBS happens all the way up to the mouth. He says eat normally as stuff getting stuck will not damage my oesophagus. Is this true? I was always led to believe pain was bad.

I'm so scared and fed up by it all, I just want to give up.

Ps. Just want to remind people that the Nissen is still the best decision I've made. My lungs are now so much better

I sent you an email.

I don't agree with your GI at all. If you can get a 2nd opinion. The back pain is the same as I get when my wrap gets irritated since my 1st redo. Your body is telling you something and I think backing off your diet will help.

Hang in there!
Take care,

I tend to agree with Bill, your Dr. seems to have a pretty laid back attitude.
I am going to post you a link that may help you but remember I am not a medical professional here in the forum.

Hi Kitt,

Thanks for that link. I think that's what I'm going to have to do again. It's so difficult given that I'm six months on and I feel abandoned by the whole medical profession, ironically that was my worse fear!

I'd you get spasms too?
