On Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. I had another episode where I aspirated stomach acid into my trachea. My neighbor had to drive me to the ER. This is the third incident within less than a year. I did learn that you can get a prescription order for the same GI cocktail that they provide in the ER. The ER physician wrote me a script for the medication. I also learned that even if my last meal of the day was at 5:00 p.m.-- it doesn't matter. It's what you eat, not how long ago you ate. In my case. I had very spicy ribs-- a mistake I'll never make again. My Nissen surgery is scheduled for the end of next month. How many of you who have been wrapped are able to eat ribs without incident?

Sorry to hear you had to go to the ER again.

I can eat anything I want to since my nisssens. Of course that is after full recovery.

Take care,
Bill

Bill-- That's the answer I was hoping to hear. Thanks! Remind me again, how long did full recovery take?

Ian-

about 80% of healing takes place in the 1st 6 months and full haling is about 1 year. I was able to start adding back some of the more challenging foods around 3 to 4 month range, but go slow.

Take care,
Bill

Ian,
I can eat anything I want as well...it doesn't matter how spicy or greasy, I can enjoy it.  As Bill said, it takes time to heal, but in the end, you'll be very happy with the results. Sorry to hear you had problems, but glad you have a surgery date!
Good luck,
Denise
