Are asthma-like symptoms associated with LPR reversible?

After being diagnosed with GERD and a LARGE hiatal hernia, I had a nissen fundoplication (laproscopic) on the 1st of April 2011. I had been diagnosed with Asthma 12-13 years prior to this. I had also progressed to COPD and carrying a rescue inhaler with me at all times.
After having the surgery, I have not had one time needing the inhaler. I no longer have my asthma symptoms and I have not had a respiratory issue since the surgery.
I think I can honestly say that the surgery helped!!!
