Hello,

Just joined here. I was diagnosed with GERD when I was 18 (now 27), and have never had this issue until the last few months.

Randomly, I will feel like I have to burp when I can't. When it finally does come out, it feels like someone is squeezing my throat and I have to "push" it out (and it's really loud.)

It's extremely uncomfortable, and often hurts too.

Has anyone who has experienced this found a way to relieve it?

Welcome to Healing Well.

The need to burp is a common complaint with GERD. When your stomach gets irritated it tends to want to release pressure anyway it can and the easiest is to belch. If your LES area is also irritated this can be a chore due to swelling.

Have you had an EGD, PH study, or manometry for this?

Take care,
Bill
