Where do I start........
My Nissen Fundoplication was carried out in late June, and it went really well. I had no pain post op at all and a lasting memory is of me thinking when is the acid going to start......it didn't!

One week post op, due to the swelling, my oesophagus became blocked and that hospitalised me for a week, never been in so much pain in my life, needless to say I was rather scared.

Now nearly two months later, I've lost a lot of weight, 2 Stone, and I feel fantastic. I can sleep properly, I have no acid, I feel as though I have my life back.

Despite the complication and the week in hospital, I would not change anything!

I love when people post up here about their experience, its makes things so much easier :) I am having my operation on Aug8th :) and I am a little bit terrified because I got no warning that I was going to have it so soon, there was a cancellation and now i am freaking out :)

Thank you so much for sharing with all the members.  As with most health boards, the patients who have a good experience healing and no problems don't always take the time to join a site to share they are feeling well.
Your thread is exactly what so many members need to read - thank you for your thoughtfulness and keep on feeling well.
