a month ago I suddenly felt sick to my stomach and had a headache. Painkillers didn't help so I went home and expected to just lay down. Next thing I know it is 7 hours later. I got up for 2 hours and slept for another 9 hours.
Then two days of being sick to my stomach.
Then heartburn started and OTC meds didn't help.
My doctor was out of the office so I went to another one. He gave me Prilosec.
Hope I spelled that right. Anyway on that medicine it changed to an ache down my right side, across the right part of my chest, a spot on my lower arm felt like you were holding something so cold it hurt on it and only once felt very severe heartburn on my left, but not at the shoulder. Once my right thigh hurt. Upper chest area.
Then the next doctor that could get me in was a physician's assistant who gave me Nexium. The pains described above went away but the heartburn is milder but back. Most of the time it is on my stomach, one side or the other. Sometimes it is higher (sternum area). My right leg felt like it had the same feeling as heartburn a couple of times for maybe 30 or 45 minutes.
Insurrance only lets me see family doctors. I will have to ask him to help me fight to get to specialists and tests, which they may or may not agree to pay.
One degree or another of pain in the areas described on Nexium daily. Worse in the afternoon and night. Yogurt seems ok to eat. Granola bars, peanut butter, and cereal with rice milk seem ok. Spicy things make it a little worse but usually it just happens with no apparant trigger.
I'm terrified of what the doctor will do or send me for. Please help.
Edit: On Nexium the skin is often hot to the touch. Does that happen with heartburn?
