I often think how important it is to eat and not "get the gerd"...so to speak, but I promptly forget about it.  I'm going to make this my EATTERY by day-night and hope to stop eating after 5!
Today I had a 2-egg omelet with cheese for breakfast
One of those 1/2 size Bagel with P-Nut Butter and Honey

So far, so good.  I have my tums handy in case it backfires.

Hi SunnySkyJan,
Good luck with your eating choices!  Hope they work out perfectly.  Always good to keep those TUMS handy.  I have found Maalox to work better because it coats things nicely.
Best wishes,

Thank you Denise. I have also wondered about nerves and stress, so thanks for bringing that up. I keep thinking that I should know the right way to live, but obviously I don't! Hopefully by the time I'm 70 I'll finally cool my jets!

I grilled Tilapia and microwaved potato's for the family of 3. Hubby, mom, and me. That's it for the day and I hope I can keep it this way. I did have to take ONE tums today. By the way, are Maalox flavored soft pills like my Tums?

You may want to try not eating peanut butter, it is hard to digest and may cause more acid

Thank you jamosca....I keep hoping others will share with me so I know what not to eat! If someone has like a "Menu" for those of us with GERD...I would like to know. Now I have to say I ate one of my mom's health nut cookie and I'm not too sure what to expect. Of course she "swears" by it. I've been known to have to sleep sitting up after I have a glass of milk to put out the fire!

Thank you kraxkrax...I just went there and was very surprised and now I know why I still get this even tho I know there is no cure. Everyone in my family loves Garlic, and it said "NO GARLIC" along with other no-no's. My favorite that I read is the Chicken. Other than Garlic I do have bland taste buds.
Baked chicken
•4 Chicken breasts, skin and bone free
•2 tbl of olive oil
•Favourite seasoning: Oregano, Rosemary, etc
•Salt

Instructions:

1.Preheat the oven to 380F
2.Wash the chicken breasts
3.Pour olive oil into a baking dish
4.Place chicken in the dish and make sure it is basked with oil on both sides
5.Add seasoning and salt
6.Cover the dish with aluminium foil
7.Place in the oven for 30-40 mins, until cooked inside

I also was told that every cup of coffee I drink, I need to drink a cup of water to dilute it. At least the Dr didn't tell me to give up the only drug I'm addicted too..."caffeine"!

I was taught the same thing, about the cup of coffee. You'll hear it both ways, that fluid is fluid. But caffeine dehydrates and with reflux, we have to stay hydrated. I am fine with peanut butter, but note I cannot have too much fat or acidic foods either. Big trigger. Also, an empty stomach triggers it for me.

Thank you Sookie...same here! Most of the time I forget what time of day it is and just drink my coffee and water and wonder why I'm so full. Then I make sure I eat a big supper and whoa...that's definitely a mistake when you go to bed early!

That's one of my biggest obstacles. I also post in the CP forum, and as a CP-er, it takes me a lonnng time to get going in the morning. Doesn't matter when I "wake up," getting moving and going is quite the process.

This means I tend to eat later in the day and at night I'm really hungry. I'm still in PT but it's a bugger being active.

Lunch: Mushroom Cheese Omelet (2) eggs
OK till supper. Have One piece of pizza and regretted it! I'm not usually up this late but I'm not feeling the greatest. Every Fri night we have Pizza night...guess I'll have to change. This one piece was just a Cheese Pizza so why it got me, I'll never know.
Gulp the next Tum.

Hi kraxkrax---I sincerely think I would die without my early morning coffee. Yesterday I had my coffee, and for lunch my brother brought me (my recipe) for spaghetti (he said it was too hard to make) and then I felt it coming on...I mean my Gerd. I took 2 tums and laid down and took a nap. Then I was starved when I woke up, ate a homemade cheeseburger, and laid down and slept the rest of the night feeling fine! Can you believe it? I sure can't. I sometimes think I do things to dare the gerd! I think also that the gerd has to be brought on by lack of sleep and nerves. You name it I've had it! So at this point of my life I want to also work on discussing what makes us get gerd in the first place.
Thanks! C[__]~~~~~~~ SunnySkyJan

Today, I had a cheeseburger for Brunch and feel fine so far. Most of the time I'm my own food maker to eat so don't think "McDonalds" when you see cheeseburger. LOL I had to go in to get my blood tests done for my Neurology Doc tomorrow. I went to bed so early last night on the 25th I cannot remember what I ate yesterday!!!!! Yes, I am getting OLD...or my grandchildren think I AM old.

B=Coffee
L=Chicken Malibu Croissant & French Fries (that I never ever eat!)
S=Stauffers Lasagna with 1 piece of Garlic Bread

Mom says she thinks we'll regret this!

Dr told me that I'm going in for a Ct Scans and hope they don't find out that I'm having TIA's. Sounds like they'd rather see my BT returned!

Yesterday a friend picked me up (as I am not allowed to drive) :-( and we went to a restaurant and I had a RibEye Steak sandwich AuJus. Nothing else before or after till supper and mom made us a tomato bisquit dinner which I didn't eat much of. So far I've been so lucky that I'm feeling guilty. Its because of my tums mostly and no surgery. I just read about a man who just had surgery and it was horrible.
I wish I would pay more attention before it could become worse. What do you do when people offer to take you out, or cook a meal for you?

I have been sharing a lot of your notes and comments to my friend who is worse off than me. I'm hoping she will follow the doctors orders, and your thoughts also.
