Help does anyone else get a white tongue. My mouth is often burning or if not just the tongue tingling. I don't know half the time whether its due to anxiety or acid. I often get a sore or burning throat with what feels like a lump in the throat. I always seem to have quite a bit of mucus in the throat upon waking.

White tongue can be candida - you could try an over the counter mouthwash.

You can get burning as part of having a sore tongue. Worth knowing if you're anaemic or not as that can give you a sore tongue, as can B12 deficiency. I couldn't understand why I burnt my tongue so often until my anaemia was treated and now my tongue isn't so delicate!!

No I'm not anaemic or B12 deficient. I thought burning mouth syndrome but that doesn't change the colour of the tongue. That's why I think it's down to the reflux although I don't seem to get the heartburn any more.i guess I could have acid vapours seeping up.

Maria,
Sounds like thrush to me.  Go see your primary care doc and see what he/she thinks.  A prescription med will work better than OTC I think, unless they've allowed some new OTC meds off prescription.  I suppose it might depend on where you live.
Good luck!

Terlin,
You can get the burning tongue mouth with gerd . Also the acid can affect your ears and sinuses. People with LPR say they have problems with breathing sometimes. Not sure about the arms going numb maybe you should check with your doctor or it could be anxiety cause anxiety can do all sorts of weird things.

Good luck
