Several members on the forum mentioned that their surgeons repaired their big HHs by using their own body tissues, including stomach tissue and connective tissue.

I am wondering what are the pros and cons of using one's own body tissues to repair HHs? Does this kind of repairs last long?

I had my HH repaired and thought the surgeon had used my own tissue for the repair. I reviewed my medical records and I had a graft tissue "Allomax" for the mesh. Also, he secured the mesh with 10mm EMS staples to the diaphragm. I am glad I got my records because I sure didn't get any answers from the surgeon or office.
