Good morning everyone
I have been hesitant to start this Prevacid Solutab the GI doc gave me on Friday after my scope because when I took a few doses a few yrs ago it made my heartburn 10 times worse so I've been putting it off and now I know why!!.. I went this morning and checked out the side affects you can have with Prevacid? Good GOD there a BOOK there.. I KNOW I need something to help me start to heal but this stuff has a bigger chance of killing me than the gastritis does!.. I then checked the side affects of the Protonix which I have been been taking for a few months and they are MINIMAL compaired to Prevacid.. I also noticed it says the recommended dose of protonix for inflammation etc is 40 mgs 2 times a day Im only one ONCE a day and maybe that's why its not helping too much.. Im listing here for everyone the side affects for both meds.. I have decided I am NOT taking the prevacid and will call and ask if I can up my protonix dose.. I SO wish there was a way to heal naturally these drugs are down right horrifying....

I do understand that everyone has different reactions to perscription drugs. I have been taking Prevacid for almost two years and have had no ill side affects and all the pain I had been experiencing is completely gone. I have had great results and won't ever miss a dose. :-)

Good luck in finding the medication that is right for you.

Hi and Welcome to HealingWell, jwl!! tongue

You are absolutely correct about the medications and how they affect everyone differently!  I took Prevacid for 2 yrs. and I did wonderful on it! yeah For some reason it suddenly stopped being quite as effective and I've had to switch a couple times in this past year, but what I'm taking now, the Aciphex and the Ranitidine seem to be doing their job - which is all that I ask.

Hugs, Teri tongue

I take Prevacid as well and occasional Reglan and have no problems since I started taking them. I took Nexium prior and the side effects were horrible for me but I know many people who have had no problem with it. I agree that its basically how it reacts to your body's chemistry.
