I have had costochondritis many times and usually in the winter months or after exercising a lot - well I did yoga the other day and some other stuff and now my sternum is hurting again bad.  right below my xiphoid process and the left of it is super painful to touch.  ugh

has anyone else had this?  makes me nervous cause it's my chest area.  my upper back has been hurting a lot too lately.  I swear.  makes me so mad.

just made an apt with my gastro for next week because I want to make sure it's not a hernia or something.  he told me the only test that is conclusive for stuff is an endoscopy.  I really don't want to do that or pay for it.  ugh  he said a barium swallow isn't that detailed.   I do know I need to quit pressing on it - cause it's making it sorer.

not sure why I have all of these musculoskeletal issues all the time.

Costo stinks! I have this right now because of my surgery, but it is getting better.
If it is painful to touch it, and gets better with NSAIDS, or ibuprofen, then it is most likely costo. As you know Costo lasts forever and is hard to get rid of.

If you are worried it is a hernia, they can see those with barium swallows pretty well, especially if it is large enough to be troubling you so much. I could never feel my hernia and GERD felt totally different than my costo.

I think you are probably just focused on it, which makes you mess with it and stretch more, and poke on it more. The chances of it being costo are really high considering you have had it before.
