Hi depressed123

Not sure if a nissen can be undone. I always thought that it couldn't be totally undone but could be taken down from say a 360 (nissen) to a 270 (partial/ toupet).

I do know that you can't have the Linx I if you've had the fundoplication .

I had a TIF in April 2013, which came apart. I knew my surgeon started doing Linx procedures back in July, and really wanted to go with the option when I saw him to discuss a second surgery. The FDA will not allow doctors to implant the Linx device in a patient who has had any kind of prior esophageal surgery. So, even though the TIF is "reversible", I still could not have the Linx. Love that the FDA gets to make my medical decisions for me. In the end, I had a NF.

Yes a nissen can be completely undone. I have heard the same as KitKat about no Linx if a previous esophagus surgery has been done. A nissen can be done after a Linx if the Linx dones't work though.

Take care,

Dear Kitkat,

I'm very curious your current status. These all spasms in your throat did disappear finally?

I have been suffering these spasms for 4 mounts..but I have to say that I'm very sorry and hopeless now that this terrible feeling is not going anywhere..:(( At first I thought that it was coming from LPR reflux which I was diagnosed from 4 years ago in a big Reflux Centre in the city that I live. I also had taken Nexium for a month and this stuck in the right side of my throat disappeared easily! After that I did not face with this problem again until my pregnancy.

Although during my pregnancy everyone was saying all these symptoms( globus with mucus, pain in my throat and chest and breathing, clicking sound in my throat and difficulty swallowing and finally this awful tightness )will certainly disappear after my pregnancy, these all symptoms are not getting better!! I have also erythematous pangastritis and esophagitis..

Lately I've heard from some experts like neurologist that homeopathic therapy is working in our situation. I'm investigating this issue now! Did you ever try the remedies of homeopathic therapy ? I don't know how it's working but I want to get rid of this annoyance soon..This constant experience is very scary and exhausting! I'm so tired of waiting for coming back my old beautiful days again and taking medicines like Diazepam and Nexium which are not working no longer in the daylight!

Hi depressed123, the reason the linx cannot be done is because of the scarring left behind after a nissen, this must have some effect on the how the linx system works. A nissen can definitely be redone ok though. I got this information from a surgeon. Barry
