Hi all-

We haven't had a general how things are going thread in a while and thought with the new year coming up this would be a good time to start one again.

As some of you have noticed I have been a little scarce here this Fall. I apologize for that, but this is the 1st year in 4 that I have been well enough to go out in the woods again. I have been taking advantage of every day I can to be out there.

Just some family updates as well. My grandson turned a year old back in Sept. My SIL is still deployed, but we hope his unit will be coming home sometime in January. That would be 6 months ahead of schedule.

My daughter is heading home from college tonight and will be home for a month. Her shoulder rehab has been coming along quite well. Her softball team is very anxious to get the season started on mid February also. I just might have to take a trip to Tennessee and watch them play in Feb.

Hope everyone has a happy holidays!

Take care,

How things are going thread, eh?

I'm glad that you could go to the woods again, Bill. I look forward to going to some of the parks I'd usually go running in.

Lets see, I'm in between 6-7 weeks post op for my Nissen fundoplication. Probably 95% of my old symptoms are gone, just about all of the coughing has stopped. I still clear my throat throughout the day, but things are still much better than they were pre-op.

I can eat lots of kinds of things, but things still get stuck easily if I don't eat slowly. I went to buffalo wild wings last night and ordered a pint of blue moon beer. I could only finish half of it, and that was pushing it. There is a big difficulty swallowing very much very fast, I'd say two to three gulps at a time, then rest. I ate four or five boneless wings and got them down past the wrap. That combined with the beer, I was so full I thought I had eaten a thanksgiving dinner. That gives you an idea of my stomach capacity still at the moment.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Happy holidays and happy new year to everyone.
