9/31 Had laparoscopic surgery to repair hiatal hernia which was pushing stomach into chest and lungs. surgery was successful using Nissan wrap and tacking stomach where it belongs.
Since surgery sporadic 1-2 day bouts of stomach pain and spasm/dry heaves.
For a few weeks able to consume soft foods even stopped wgt loss by middle of Dec.
Now at 8 weeks out, for the last 4 days intense stomach pain and dry heaves. Dry heaves seem to come with stomach pain.
Suspect pain might be gas not able to burp.
Are these normal reactions.

I have not had problems like you describe and I am 6 weeks post-op. My only pain was form gas which usually resolved in 2 hours or so. No dry heaves or spasms.

I got sick too. 4 months out with Nissen. Do you have a stomach bug? No anti nausea will work with stomach bug.

Welcome to Healing Well and the Wrapped Club!

Do you have any anti nausea meds? If not please ask your doctor for them. Nausea post surgery is common and can hit anytime. It does get better the farther along with the recovery you get, but can still happen. This is a common side effect with any stomach surgeries.

Take care,
Bill
