Hello,

This post might be a little long, so thanks for taking the time to read it.

My symptoms started in Jan of 2013 at first as only nausea after I drank my morning coffee. So I cut the coffee out, then by Aug 2013 my nausea was worse it was happening often like 4 times a week or so and would last for 2-3 days at a time. I also began to lose my appetite and I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks. So I went to the doc and he put me on prescription Pepcid one pill twice a day before breakfast and before bed. I went back a week later because I started having heartburn along with all the other problems listed. The new doc upped the dosage to four pills a day (2 in the morning and 2 at night) well I had to stop taking that med as it caused me severe constipation. so I went to my personal doc and she prescribed Pantoprazole 40mg, take one pill a day. She also ordered an ultrasound of my gallbladder (the results came back normal) then she ordered the EGD and I had that done in Nov 2013. They also did a biopsy then everything came back normal.

The GI doc said to up the Pantoprazole to two pills a day for 6 weeks then go back down to one pill day. My next appt with her is Jan 21st. I am still currently take the two pills day. It seems to help better with my symptoms but not entirely.

My current symptoms are: burping a lot all day long, nausea after I eat (I am trying to avoid all the foods that I know that cause it) fullness really fast after eating. Like a sick full feeling like I ate a whole cow and my portion size was really a small/normal one. I sometimes even still get the heartburn but it goes away on its own. my main symptoms that is most unbearable is the nausea which I take Ondansetron 4mg for when it flares up but that barely works most times.

My question is I am not sure what I have and it seems the docs don't know either. I was told I had GERD, Acid Reflux and Gastritis by all of the docs I have seen.

Hello,

I feel your pain! I am going through the same problems right now, had the nausea for the past few months along with the pain in the stomach. Same diagnosis and I still do not believe the doctors. Waiting now to see the GI specialist.

Hi

You need to go for tests to find out what's causing all of your problems.

Barium swallow, ph test and Manometry test. There will be a reason why this all started.

Mine all started in April out of the blue and it eventually turns out I had a hiatus hernia.

Nothing was found or seen on my endoscopy, scan or biopsies but a slight hernia was eventually seen on the barium swallow.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to give an update. I went to see my GI who did my EGD and she is ordering a gastric stomach emptying test. Also she told me to decrease my Protonix 40mg from twice a day to once a day. I told her my main symptoms are the nausea and the fullness after eating only a little.

She kept me on the Ondansetron 4mg because she said this one has the least side effects and it works the fastest. So I guess I'll stick with it. If my GES comes back normal she is going to try me on some new meds that will calm my stomach nerves (I think it's antidepressant because it said it's used for people who are anixous but it's been proven to calm the nerves in the stomach which is why she is giving it to me). She said that I could have a hypersenstivity to that nerve in the stomach like how some people have in their brains and get frequent migraines but when they do 20 cat scans nothing shows up. She said it's hard to pinpoint what is causing my nausea when I don't have any other symptoms really and that it's just trail and error.

The only foods that I eat that I know are safe for me (as I am scared to venture out to new things because it makes my nausea worse)

oatmeal
toast with butter and jelly
plain bread, white or wheat
sandwiches (turkey) with just lettuce and sometime cucumbers
turkey sausage
rice, any kind of rice
nutrigrain bars
granola bars
apples, bananas
fruit cups in fruit juice
pancakes, syrup
baked or grilled chicken
brocoli
green beans
potatoes
chicken soup
crackers
donuts

it seems like dairy doesn't go over so well with me

it seems like a lot of food but I feel like it's not I get sick of eating the same things.

I am still experimenting with things like once I had cheese on my chicken sandwich and it made me sick but then I had swiss cheese I beleive on my turkey sandwich and I was fine.

my husband has chronic nausea and had the million dollar work up, with all the tests coming back normal. zofran seems to be good for nausea and dexilant for heart burn GERD

you can check out my posts and see if anything is familiar in your case

Do you have any pain in your right side after eating? I had five gallbladder tests and they were all normal yet mine was shot. p.s. what kind of anti-anxiety med did they give you?

It sounds like functional dyspepsia (or functional heartburn). Have you changed your diet?
