Hi ann1961

You say that your sphinctpter is open is that because of the baclofen?

I didn't know what baclofen was so I looked it up and it is a muscle relaxant.

Do you have problems with gerd and if so is it because of the baclofen or did you have gerd before the baclofen ?

Sorry for all the questions I'm just trying to get a clearer picture.

Hello Maria

I have gerd really bad and they just found out that my sphincter is wide open. So they are suggesting the baclofen or the linx surgery.

Hi Maria,

Baclofen although a muscle relaxant also has the side effect of tightening the LES similar to Domperidone.

Hi ann

I've just read your other post where you say you've had a gastric sleeve.

If your sphincter is wide open then surely that's a mechanical fault and no medication will remedy this. Do they know why your sphincter is open is it faulty or do you have a hernia?

Thanks GC1pink I didn't know that it's used to tighten the sphincter.
