I have had difficulty swallowing food for over a week then a week ago I had some acid come up my throat and burnt it and really dried it out. It caused laryngitis which I got rid of with milk and honey.

Now over the past few days I have constant throat clearing, feeling like mucous is in my trachea all the time.

Today I have suddenly had difficulty swallowing saliva.

I don't know if this is because I am swallowing excessively to clear my throat, or whether its anxiety drying my throat out. I also feel like when I am swallowing liquids I am swallowing the wrong and they kind of go down the front of my throat instead of evenly.

I am getting so sick of all these symptoms. Its something new to deal with every day I just don't understand why.

Has anyone else had this?

Hi Kay,

I'm so sorry to hear you're having so many difficulties with your upper GI tract! Have you called your doctor's office to report these problems? It sounds as if you might need to be seen, or at least have some new medications.

Hopefully somebody will be by soon with some ideas and information for you.

Best wishes,
