Hello everyone, my name is John and I had been diagnosed with chronic gastritis about 5 years ago. The doctor never mentioned how I got the gastritis but he said that he did a biopsy and did not find any h pylori. I think that I also have gerd because I do get the acid backing up to my mouth like food is coming up. I have some weird symptoms with all that; when I eat, sometimes my heart will start racing and I feel like something is pounding to my chest that I can even feel on my head. I have a lot of chest pain, no burning feeling though and sometimes I will get a chest pressure which gives away to a bit of nausea followed by gas. The chest pains have been the worst part... I have done all the possible heart tests and not only, I have done the most thorough check up and the only thing they found was a bulging disc at c5-6... Anyone has ever had any similar symptoms? My doctor wants me to do an endoscopy which I think I have to schedule at some point...

I highly recommend reducing your diet down to something similar to a detox diet, as in bland, simple food like sweet potato, apples, broth, stuff like that. See what happens. Then add foods.

Honestly, you sound like you may have food sensitivities. I'd look into it. I have a sister with extreme sensitivities and she has reduced her diet to a few items and has been fine now for 15-20 years. She's 46 years old and looks 30. Extremely healthy now that she's tweaked her diet.

I have actually an appointment on Tuesday to be tested for all that. It is just weird that sometimes I will react after eating something and other times eating the same thing I do not feel as bad.

Thank you for your responses,

I was diagnosed with GERD a couple of years ago and I had an endoscopy done 1 1/2 years ago and was diagnosed with gastritis. They did a biopsy to test for Barrett's esophagus but that came back ok. I get the feeling of burning in my chest, and throat alot along with that feeling of a lump in the back of my throat. I know how uncomforable it is. I too went to the ER a couple of years ago due to chest pains and they did tests, including a stress test and said it was heartburn and my heart was fine. I hope you get some answers at your appointment and feel better soon!
