So I am 21 and I have LPR it was diagnosed a month ago(However if feels like a lifetime.) I was on omperzole it didn't work. I started working out in the gym, probiotics, digestive enzymes,Vitamin D and B-complex slippery elm lozenges. And I am so proud to say it's going away!!!!
My symptoms mostly where constant hoarseness a pleghmy cough during and after eating! This is really bad because the cough was annoying and I am singer and the hoarseness is DEFINITELY not ok.
I figured my LPR is going away mostly because when I sing very Quietly my voice produces a sound. When it does not it means my cords are inflamed. So far almost every part of my voice I'm able to hum quietly.

However, when I get louder there is still some raspyness. So my cords aren't fully healed yet. How long does it take heal vocal cords that have been berated by acid? Any singers on here who have experienced this?

Also I feel like if there is any LPR left it happens at night(Cause I wake up the most raspy) but I'v elevated my head anything else I could do?

Hi Josias,

I am a singer, classically trained & spent 10 years in rock n roll backup. I lost my voice & diaphragm control
due to LPR, suffered shortness of breath & pain when taking a deep breath which majorly affected singing ability, had to stop.

I am 8 weeks out from NF surgery. I am very happy to report my voice is coming back, I am able to take deep breaths & have greater breath control. I am still having coughing mucous and a note bit of choking going on. I still take 20 MG Omeprazole daily & am being patient.

All up - I wish I'd done the surgery sooner.

I'm looking for input from anyone who can speak to still coughing after surgery & how improved I might expect to be.

Cary
