I had my Nissen Fundoplication in August and had been healing really well since then. I am able to eat anything etc.

However, in the last couple of months I have been very gassy, bloated and sometimes have diarrehea.

I have had a few incidents of diziness and havent been feeling 100 % in the last couple weeks. I have also recently noticed on occasion, what looks to be, dark blood in my stool.

Is any of this normal and should I be concerned?

Hey Colt,

I remember we both had Fundoplication in August and it looks like we are both having problems. I just came home from the hospital after going to the ER with chest pains two days ago. Evidently GERD is back and is causing some distress on my heart. The docs kept me so long because I had an abnormal heart enyzme reading on one of my blood tests. They think the acid is causing my diaphram to swell thus putting pressure on my heart.

I am not sure what to do at this point. I still cannot burp, so I am not sure if my surgery is failing or not. I also noticed that I have heartburn again for the first time since pre-surgery. I am meeting with my surgeon on Wednesday but do not really want to go through the surgery again only after 6 months. I just do not know what to do. I have gone back on a soft diet and drinking plenty of water. The docs also put me back on Nexium.

As to your situation, I had a roommate during my recent hospital stay and he had very similiar symptoms that you describe below. I think he had divortitiss (cannot spell) or IBS. Hope you find out what is going on soon.

Any blood in your stool is abnormal. Please get into your doctor and have it checked.

Take care,
