So I use this site all the time to cope with some of my problems, So I have decided to share my story.
about 2 1/2 years ago I gave birth to my second child. 5 months after my son was born I had my gallbladder removed due to gallstones. Ever since then my stomach has reck havoc on my life. One day talking on the phone I coughed really hard and started gagging, I looked at my throat and noticed I had a big piece of skin hanging, after rushing to the doctors he told me it was from a tonsil stone. So after I had my 1st app with a ENT he told me I had really bad acid reflux (silent reflux because I never feel acid coming up). so I stated taking Prilosec 40mg 2 times a day.. worked fine and weaned my self off. All was good for a while until 6 months ago I started feeling like there was always something stuck in my throat, it was so bad I would my self anxiety and rush my self to the ER. I went bad to the ENT and he told me it was Globus sensation and its from acid aggravating my esophagus and it takes a while to heal. So I went back on Prilosec twice a day. He also told me to go to the dentist and talk to them about TMJ because I have been getting chest pains and the jaw clicks every time I open it. ( Yet to find a dentist that takes my insurance that specializes in TMJ in Philadelphia). Just recently I have been getting really bad chest pains that is in my left chest and goes under my rib cage, down my left arm then other days its on the right side. so I finally got a upper endoscopy done 2 weeks ago. NO Ulcer and no infections he told me I suffer from Esophagus Spasms!!! Ugh Thought for sure I had a ulcer. He prescribe me 40mg Protonix twice a day. So confused right now, I don't know what is wrong. I still been having chest pain, neck pain, scared to eat, lost weight. I don't know if its TMJ or what. Also I have been Burping and really gassy lately?? Anybody have any thought? idea

I think I've had silent reflux as well because I never had heartburn but would have other symptoms. Very gassy. Throw up in my mouth. etc... just never the heartburn. The thing that sent me to the doctor was I began to have heart palpitations. No clue what caused it so she asked a bunch of GERD questions and determined it was related. It was odd, it would only happen when I eat. And one day it wouldnt go away until I took a bunch of deep breaths and drank some water. Very next day it happened again while eating. Put me on Omeprazole but dont like the idea of taking meds. So I've changed my diet and been more careful. Havent had another heart palp attack since but it keeps my on edge as every now and then I'll feel a faint heart palp.

As far as pain in my left chest, I would/still do feel that as well. I dont know about you but for me it was usually gas related. As weird as it sounds, I will sometimes burp and its almost as though I can feel the air bubbles passing over the location in my chest that is hurting and then slowly the pain will dissipate. This happens especially when the pain is closer to the esophagus. However i will also have pain sometimes in the upper chest above the pec muscle. sometimes is slightly lower near the bottom of the rib cage. Again I notice it more when I'm feeling gassy.

I've started going on a low carb diet. Used to eat a ton of bread but no longer. I dont eat as much cheese either. I've noticed I'm a lot less gassy than I used to be. And as a result feel less pain in my chest. Might be worth it to see if you notice something similar.

I've suffered from "Acid Reflex" for many years. I must warn anyone reading this I have never been to a Doctor. ( only for Job physicals). This have been very difficult to deal with, but when I do the things I know I need to do it's been controllable. My eating to many things effect it, but going to bed to soon after eating causes the most problems. If I do this by mistake I get the same problems everyone here gets... It's to late so I take a table spoon or less if you can't handle too much of Baking Soda and Warm water warm as you can handle and drink it down fast! Also I recommend Zegerid instead of some of these other anti acid pills. Try using before you eat. They work great. Zegerid is over the counter and has (Sodium Bicarbonate) which is Bakjng Soda which most of the other products don't have. I've tried Vinegar but it burn all the way down it's not necessary use Baking Soda and warm water it works instantly, but still give your stomach time before you lay back down! Hope this helps someone!
