Hi everyone and thanks for letting me be part of this great forum.

I have woken twice in the past couple of months with acid reflux burning in my throat and a choking sensation, making an atrocious noise trying to inhale. It seems to take a while to be able to take a proper breath.
Scared the bejezzus out of me and my hubby.
I am asthmatic as well.

I have seen some tips on a very old post, wondering what people are doing about this problem these days. Thanks

Welcome to Healing Well.

One idea is to sleep on an incline. The best way is to raise the head of the bed about 4 to 6 inches. Or you can get a wedge, but be sure it's long enough that your entire upper body is supported not just your shoulders. If you just elevate your head it can put extra pressure on your belly and make it worse.

Also try to not eat anything 3 hours before going to bed.

Take care,
