Anyone try this? How might this effect reflux and acid? I used to it but now I am wondering if it is a good thing to do with GERD.

Teacherman,

This is another of the home remedies that has been around for ever and once it was a "weight loss fad".  If you find it works for you and your Dr. has no objections than I would thinK it would be OK.

If you try this, please also note that you should rinse with plain water or even brush your teeth after drinking the lemon water, as lemon juice is hard on tooth enamel.

Nothing wrong I can see if you are wanting to reduce the acid in your stomach. It's about the same as using vinegar. A little acid in the stomach at the start of a meal tells the stomach no need to produce a whole bunch of HCl.

As always, it's a good idea to run all things you are doing by your gastroenterologist.

To protect your teeth, you might want to rinse your mouth with a little plain water after having anything acid in it.

Kitt,

We were typing at the same time. Your post hit the board seconds before mine. Very funny.
