Hi all. I just had an EGD in November. Findings were erosive esophagitis and an inflammatory ulcerating polyp in esophagus. Polyp was removed, and I continue to take PPI. I'm now learning that I am iron deficient anemic, and the most likely reason is a GI bleed somewhere.

What are the chances that a small bleed was missed on scope in November?

Thanks for any info.

Elcamino,

There is always that chance that a small lesion may be missed in an endoscopy but it would be hard to say your small bleed started 4 months ago.

This is a a question you should ask of your GI physician.
