I've had a chronic sore throat, dry throat for 1 year. It all started last May, as a sore throat that never went away. Went to ENT, about 3 weeks after it started, and she looked in throat and diagnosed with LPR/Gerd. (I had never had any Gerd symptoms in my life, and at the time did not know what LPR was). BC I didn't want to take drugs, I have ensued in a year long search trying to get to the root, thinking somewhere in my mind that this is LPR. Although I only have the main symptom of sore throat, dry throat. I went to 2 naturopaths, acupuncture, tried all the diets, blah blah blah.
As of today, 3 of the tests I've had all negative:
1. EGD (edoscopy) - negative
2. 24 Hour impedance - negative
3. Peptest - negative (o pepsin)
So, am I barking up the wrong tree? It seems to me that I am. I have not one shred of evidence that this is LPR. But I don't know what to do now. I guess find a new ENT, that will actually look for a real diagnosis, and work with me. My fear is that despite all my tests, a new ENT will be cursory and say, "LPR" -- (the last diagnosis was based on a look down my throat, not even a nasal endoscopy)
SO in your opinions, does it seem I am LPR free? And if so, any suggestions on what next step is?
Chronic sore feeling throat, dry throat. Very dry mouth especially at night. I do not sleep with my mouth open. I was tested negative for Sjrogen's disease (by blood test).
