Sometime instead of liquid acid coming up I find myself regurgitating clumps of food that I have recently eating. It doesn't make it all the way to my mouth, rather, I feel it come up my throat and have to produce a hard swallow or drink something to push it back down. Is this normal for someone with GERD? Should I be concerned? It happens despite that fact that I'm on Prevacid.

I found this to be a common problem I had when on PPI's, especially if I ate too much. I also still felt food sitting in my stomach 5+ hours after eating. I think this is common due to lower acid levels from being on the medication so the food sits in your stomach longer. Your LES also works based on your acid levels so if it is not working correctly then the food can easily move back up into your esophagus with out doing much to make that happen.
