Hi all

I'm scheduled to have the impedance study soon and was wondering what it was like? I had the pH test a while ago and my Demeester was "normal" despite my symptoms on the day, the GI said I hadn't been off Nexium long enough - 5 days but I said I just couldn't cope with being off longer because of gerd but also stomach issues so I suggested the impedance test instead.

I found the pH test horrific, I see people often complain about the motility test because of the big tube, well for me the ph test tube was the same size! I guess they use primitive technology. Is the impedance test the same sort of tube or smaller (or bigger!?)

Your experience with the impedance test should be very similar to the conventional (old?) pH test. The tube is definitely thinner than the one used for the manometry.

Yes, remember the impedance test is newer technology. I remember them both being the same experience...
