Hi, everyone.

April and May have been interesting. My stomach plagued me most of the time, but now there are some other issues.

Fullness & Swallowing
I'm eating very little because I always feel full. Weight loss is evident. I'm malnourished. If the food does get down, it doesn't feel great. I'm usually in the bathroom pretty fast. Lately, that "stuck" feeling has returned whenever I eat. I'm trying a poached egg, but it's even getting stuck. Liquifying it on my mouth doesn't help. I try to drink something warm right before I take a bite. I'm also back to crushing my pills. I'm on Bentyl, Pepcid, Xanax, and Zofran. I'm not supposed to crush the Pepcid, though.

Does anyone have any ideas? I've regressed so much. I had a barium swallow two weeks ago and everything was fine when I was upright, so my swallowing issue makes no sense. Could allergies be involved with my throat? Tis the season.

GI Doctor #2 wants to do some lab work and then a CT Scan. Thoughts? My Nissen was in August. Bill and TonyG think everything will pass and I should be patient.

Pain in side
Most days I have a nagging pain in my side that comes and goes. I guess it could possibly be a gallbladder issue. idk.

Anyone have any encouraging or discouraging words? I'm just frustrated. I'm grateful for your help.

Hi Smooth, I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this. Why don't you do the lab tests and CT scan that GI doctor #2 wants you to do. Those are pretty easy tests for you to do and if there is a chance they might yield some helpful info I would go for it.

As for your difficulties with eating-have you tried drinking some higher calorie shakes/smoothies to get the proper nutrition so you could gain some strength back? It's harder to heal and feel well when your body is not getting enough to eat or the proper nutrients so anything you could do to that end would be a move in the right direction. I don't know if you can tolerate these type of drinks but there are protein smoothies and other types of smoothies that are delicious if you can manage drinking them.

Sending you hugs and best wishes for healing and good health.

I had a CT Scan in September, so i hope insurance will pay for another so soon. I feel #1 ordered the wrong test a few weeks ago. I needed a Upper GI and more a barium swallow, meaning they didn't look at my stomach. His nurse said she didn't think insurance would pay for another Upper GI so soon. I had one sometime late last year. With the lab work, he wants to check protein levels and i forget what else. I have a physical with my general practitioner tomorrow.

I have a Carnation Instant Breakfast topped with protein powder in the morning. This morning I skipped the powder. I have no appetite, so i usually force myself. I have a couple vanilla Ensure throughout the day, but I'm starting to think they disagree with me. My hope is to start Smoothies soon. I just need to get some fruit and make use of my blender. For a while, I are like it was old times. Heh.

I really just feel like i got out of surgery as my issues then were similar. Thanks for the hugs. I don't get enough.
