Hi, I know from reading the posts a lot of you suffer from pain in back but on the left side.

With the exception of one other person I cannot find anyone with right upper back back just an inch or two from spine. I have been diagnosed with hiatal hernia and have shortness breath, cough etc which I suspect is lpr. Lots of tests show nothing.
The pain can be really bad at times and persistant. Even had a thoracic mri. Clear

It is really worrying me and would help to know some more people get the pain on upper right back near shoulder blade.

Many thanks

I get pain radiating to both my left and right sides, right near where the lower traps end, so couple of inches from the spine.

It doesn't happen too often, especially on PPI's, but at times it can feel like a real muscular pain.

I've had pain radiating to all sorts of places beyond that, the most disturbing has got to be when it actually felt like someone was poking my heart with needles!

bourne,
I'd feel better if more ppl had the same issue but until then......it's you and I. Which is better than just you or I......yet I can offer no answers and dr's have been no help either.

Hi! I am one of those who experience pain and discomfort on my right back near the spine or my shoulder blades. Sometimes it crawls to my right arm, or left back.. but recently it sticks on my right back. Im really not sure if it is still because of the gerd, or maybe just my anxiety. I am trying my very best not to worry and notice it, though the discomfort stays on and off.

An update for me. I was adviced to have a sputum test. It's been three days since I am taking ambroxol and having nebulizer but still I don't have phlegm. I am also continuing pantoprazole, which I think is the one who reduces my shortness of breath.

Guys, do you get awake at night because of cough or your breathing? I have always had very perfect sleeping. I have read that if the cough does not disrupt your sleeping, it may be a habit cough. Still im not sure.

I was also checking myself if I have health anxiety. Most of the symptoms have happened to me.
1. Always checking on the internet about symptoms
2. Always thinking of illness or symptoms even how little or mild the symptom is
3. Not assured even when the doctor and tests tell its normal and fine
4. Always worried that the symptom is serious
5. Going to different doctors
6. Always talking about the symptoms to other friends or family
7. Very sensitive when he/she sees or watched a film/news that's about dying or illness

And more!

How about you guys?

Last week I've Ben having pain in exactly the same place- mine is also sore to the touch today so hoping its muscular as last week I have been recovering from a prolonged period ( approx 4 weeks) of problems with gastritis and oesophageal pain behind breast bone). This necessitated my Dr doubling my Omeprazole dose to 20 mg once or twice a day and thought ( praying) that I am ok again. Hopefully worrying unnecessarily
Hope you feel better soon

i used to suffer from pain in my back from LPR.

once i figured out the right diet for myself and dr treat for laryngeal sensory neuropathy it went away.

you want to find a good research hospital.
good neuro there
elavil, gabapentin...

what worked for me was
lyrica, cymbalta...combo.

for neurothapy you can try basically any drug that treats diabetic neurothapy...
everyone is different its a trial and error process..

Hi bourne!
How are you feeling lately? Did the back pain go away?
I still have the back pain. Sometimes its moderate, sometimes it's disturbing. My shortness of breath is gone, i still have a little cough. But the only thing that stays is the back pain. It did not get away completely. How about you?

Hi Angelcat,
I am the ipposite of you the back pain is better but the shortness of breath is really bad. It is so scary as I feel I cannot get a good breath e en when doing nothing. It varies in severity.

What do you think helped the shortness of breath.

I have been seeing an osteopath who can work on your digestive system and it has helped the back pain.

Hope we all get back to normal soon

Hi! I just make sure that when I know I might eat a little acid forming food, I also have carrots or more veggies on the side. I also practiced diaphragm breathing, and I think it helped me all lot in terms of relaxing and controling my breath. There are times that I keep on sighing but not that difficult to breath unlike the few days back. I also drink a lot of water, everytime I feel like coughing, because when I cough everything seems to flare up especially the SOB.

Regarding the back pain, mine also got better today, thank God. Yesterday it was so sore, I had to call someone to massage my back. i think it also helped.

I hope you'll feel better everyday! Have a nice day!
