Hi everyone, I'm so excited that I found this website. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with me for months, and I think I'm finally on to something. So here is my story:

*Been tired for years, even though I'm sleeping 8-10 hours. Took sleep study and found that I'm not getting into REM sleep, but they didn't know sleep apnea, etc. Could acid reflux be waking me up without me knowing it??
*Been sick with this "thing" 8 times in 21 months (sore throat, ear aches, severe body aches - mostly upper body including chest and back, tiredness, and a general feeling of being really sick or run down). These episodes last anywhere from one week to a month.
*Sometime in the midst of all this, I noticed that I felt like something was stuck in my throat.
*Have seen many different docs who have tested me for Lyme's Disease, Mono, Strep, Lupus, RA, HIV and anything else you can think of. Everything came back negative and all blood work, etc. is normal.
*Recently went to an ENT, who said that I have a severe acid burn in my throat. He put me on Prilosec 40mg/twice a day. I've also been taking TUMS, and have cut out coffee, chocolate, carbonated beverages, alcohol, tomatoes and spicy and fatty foods (although I never abused these things anyway). I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast everyday.
*Since then I've noticed that I usually feel like I have something caught in my throat, and that I'm burping a lot. I also feel acid coming up when I bend over to pick something up. I feel like total crap!
*Seeing GI today for the first time. Hopeful that I can start getting some answers and feeling better!

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! Thanks!
