After it was determined I have fibromyalgia, I was given opioids to help control the pain.  In no time, all the trouble I was having with belching, GERD, gastritis, shortness of breath, IBS-C (for which I began taking senna regularly), vanished.

A year later, to my disappointment, hydrocodone 10/500s were taken off the market.  When they were being dispensed, I could not have asked for a better solution for either the fibro or digestive distress.  My body was working better than it had for decades.

Now, because of widespread misuse of opioid drugs by idiots who refused to follow their doctor's instructions, the more potent meds are no longer being provided to patients who truly need them.  Oxy's are gone, as are Lortabs and 10/500s, and so my digestive system is back to its old tricks again.  Loads of belching all day long, forced for the most part, as well as IBS, gastritis and the necessity to sleep with the front of my bed six inches high.  I've returned to hell.

Believe me when I say I felt like the cure had finally come when I was on the stronger pain meds.  Now, we're being given reformulated pain meds that have no real potency, and so my body hurts like the dickens all day long while I belch to beat the band.
