When an ENT checks for LPR, what do they look for? Mine said I had tension in my vocal chords, but no irritation, nodules, polyps, inflammation or swelling there, or anywhere in the local region. Does that mean anything? At the time I assumed it meant I was all clear, but I'm just making sure.

Hi Dax.

As far as I know, not being a doctor, it sure sounds like you are fine. If you have any reflux it doesn't look like it's doing any damage.

Back before fundo, and while I was on PPIs, I had non-acid reflux (triggered by food intolerances). I didn't have inflammation or damage, but I had a bad valve.

Your ENT probably couldn't tell if you had reflux, just looking down your throat. For that you have to get different tests. I think the ENT could prescribe them, but he might prefer you see the GI.
