Hi I'm new to this site.... Iv been going insane for the last 3 months I woke up 1 morning with a weird sensation at base of my throat near where my collar bones meet.... Thought I was coming down with something, this went on for 2 weeks without change the only way I can describe it it felty like a bee sting in the inside... Then when the sting feeling went, it felt raw with the sting feeling coming back ever so often and more to right side. If I take a deep breath I get so far and the pain sets in, it feels sharp ripping flesh feeling.
Anyway I convinced myself I had something serious and was going to die.... Anyway my friend said about acid reflux lpr (silent kind) as iv had no heartburn feelings in chest.... So I started taking Zantac and eating small & often & healthy. Then I decided that it couldn't have been lpr as no improvement on my throat and I didn't have the classic symtoms everyone els seems to have like throat clearing, lump sensation, burning sensation, acid taste in mouth, & the hoarse voice , the only symptoms I have are the ones I stated above.
Anyway 3 months on I finally get my ent appointment he puts camera up nose & down throat, he says I have evidence of acid reflux and puts me on omoprazole & gavasgon.
Has anyone els had just my symptoms? & how long does it take for throat to heal? The sore throat is by my laynx not up my my tonsils at back of my mouth.... That area is fine.

Hi Tigg,

Welcome to Healing Well! Sorry you're struggling with uncomfortable symptoms. While I haven't experienced exactly what you're dealing with, I can tell you that these types of irritations take a long time to heal. Try to relax and give your body time to heal.

Be sure to take your PPI correctly, so you get the most value out of it. It should be taken on an empty stomach a full hour before your meal. The first food you eat at that meal should be high in protein. Milk works well for that.

Hang in there! Hope things straighten around soon.
Best wishes,
Denise
