I been taking Carafate for 1 month. Ok back in April I start having pain in my chest in stomach. I went to the ER 2 times they said I had acid reflux. I did think so because I was waking up with pain everyday. I tried PPI but they Gave me bad side effect. N all the acid reduces meds gave me headache. So I found a dr to put the tube in my stomach to see what's wrong. He found out I had Gastritis with no infection. I was happy to hear that because I thought I was dieting. This journey gave me bad depression n stress because my blood pressure was sky hi. I'm 27 year old. I lost 20 pounds doing this. I just got put on carafate a month ago in yesterday I just pick up my second month of it. I love it it don't have no side effect a lil headache but it's not that bad. It feel like I'm healing but I keep hearing it take 2 to 3 months to heal from this. Have anyone else took Carafate n heal from gastritis.

I've had carafate tablets but unfortunately for me it didn't seem to help at all. Its good it works for you as like you said, it has minimal side effects.

For me gastritis takes a looong time to heal, and the worst thing is you can be feeling good for a week or two, and you try something "bad" like chocolate and the next day you wake up and its flared up again!

So my advice is to eat carefully and only start introducing "bad" foods really slowly after you've felt 100% for at least a couple of weeks, or you end up in this continuous cycle of it coming back.
