hey all :)

I'd appreciate any feedback since maybe someone experience this with reflux. I've looked at some posts on UC as well but nothing definitive. I've been on PPIs since June 26th, it was doing the job albeit slowly but getting there. I was first put on Nexium and that lasted eleven days, had to stop because of intestinal pain and switched back to my older PPI Losec, that too is ok but my BMs aren't, scant amount actually not constipated and I feel like my intestines are just not normal. No blood or anything I'm just not regular with a fair consistency like it was before flare up. I eat well enough, not huge amounts and also lowered acid intakes. Kind of confused about bowels really, I don't recall my first flare with GERD giving me this much grief intestinal wise. Thanks for reading, cheers :-)

Hi there

have you discussed this with your doctor? passing bowls 2 times a day is considered frequent and for most people once a day is not uncommon. I am eating 8-10 meals a day and normal only use the toilet once a day. I did notice ppi can play havoc with your system and some people suffer from side effects not reported on manufactures instruction booklet. Consistency could be affected by ppi as it seems to affect the secretion of bile. Some get green or clay coloured stools and sometimes even hello. Dehydration can affect bowl movement/consistency and you don't need to be thirsty to be dehydrated.

Good luck and try not to stress too much.

Thank you James_a for your reply. I didn't speak with my doctor since I'm seeing her next week only. I usually go daily with the odd day skip so yeah I guess that is normal and it probably is the PPI doing it's thing. I am hydrating well but only water, 4-5 water bottles a day and the odd coffee in the a.m nothing else. Can't wait to be normal again. Thanks again, take care :)
