I have had surgery 2.5 months ago for LPR. I decided to take the chance and go for surgery and hope I was in the percentage that it was successful for. Unfortunately it hasn't been a success for me and I'm back on H2 blockers, gaviscon, elevated bed etc and waiting for another PH probe test and barium swallow to confirm this. I was told by my surgeon to prepare for it not easing my symptoms. Got to be honest I'm gutted as I had pinned all my hopes on the op being the magic cure. Saying all that though, I would still advise you to go ahead with the op as there are a good percentage of people that do have success and easing of symptoms and you may be one of them. Got to be worth the chance. The only discomfort I found following the op was the gas pain which whilst uncomfortable was bearable and eased after a day or 2.
Hope you find a resolution soon.
