Hey guys this is my story,
I started my first semester of college, went well and had a ton of fun. Came back for my second semester and started having weird health issues. I had a very bloated stomach one day after having a chocolate protein shake. I started to have very bad stomach pains so I went to a GI doctor. He put me on a ton of medication (omniprezoil, Kevin, dexcelen, and others. I might be spelling them wrong sorry) this caused me to have bad chest pains and very frequent headaches not to mention I was always in a state of cloudiness. I came home to my real doctor who took me off all the medication and we jus started with a probiotic. We did an endoscopy and found nothing so we think it's a bacterial overgrowth. After every meal my stomach gets bloated and I am constantly burping. Sometimes I get pains in my throat and it hurts to swallow but burping tends to relieve the pressure and pain. Sometimes I get pains right below my heart that is like a sharp pressure. It usually goes away after about 30 minutes and I feel like burping again helps this pain. I am wondering if anyone else has these issues because every day I just want to get back to my normal self, I feel like I'm honestly too young for these issues and want to get it fixed as soon as possible.

when you performed endoscopy, did they take biopsy for H pylori infection and also for damage to stomach lining? The only way to diagnose gastritis is through biopsy where they asses damage to the mucosal layer.

also its hard to tell with endoscopy if you are having acid reflux, it could be you are refluxing because if loose upper oesophageal valve. You need PH and manometry test. If its reflux you are having i am surprised ppi are not helping, how long you take omeprazole and dexilant for?

Also have you changed your diet to GERD type diet? Google it, it could be you are intolerant to something you are eating, have food allergy test done if you can.

I'm having similar symtoms and waiting for my test results. Get your doctor to check for small intestinal bacterial owergrowth, candida and other bugs. You should also be checked for food intolerances (Milk and wheat are really common).

The problem is that there is probably no easy fix. If you have SIBO it can be cured by an antibiotic treatment, but it's crucial that you continue on a strict diet afterwards, or else it could return.

I'm also in college, and to not be able to drink alcohol and go out eating with your friends is really frustrating when you are this young. Hopefully we will be able to fix it!
