Hi,

I'm a 25 yr. old female and I had the TIF procedure done in October of 2010. For the first year it worked great, but around December 2011 my GERD symptoms began to re-appear and now I am back on daily medication. I've been back to my surgeon, but all they did was look for other causes, like Gallbladder issues. I had a bunch if test done and my Gallbladder is fine, so I'm not sure where to go from here. I really didn't want to be back on meds, which is why I had the surgery in the first place.

Has anyone else had similar issues? If so what have you done?

Thanks!

Have you considered the nissen fundoplication?

Had a Nissen Fundoplication 3 years ago. All my GERD symptoms have returned; back on daily PPI and domperidone. I am in the same situation as emanders 11 but with a different procedure.
Not thinking of a redo because the recovery post op of my Nissen was extremely difficult.

I really don't want to have another surgery. While the recovery was pretty easy, I really don't have the time to go through another procedure. It's just frustrating that the relief only lasted a year.
