Hi, I am new here.  I am having an endoscopy done on Saturday morning.  I had one 2 yrs ago, but for the past few months my symptoms have gotten worse.  I have constant feeling of burning/gnawing in my stomach, along with gurgling in my esophagus,  my appetite isn't what it used to be (but I haven't lost weight either), and the acid taste in my mouth.
I have been on 40mg of protonix
I am really, really scared.  I know I have been under a lot of stress lately, and I am hoping that this is what my problem is.
I am petrified that there is something really really wrong
any thoughts?

I am no expert on GERD, but really I do think people always think the worst, and it may be that after your endoscopy you will feel better, more informed, instead of imagining the worst, I bet you are just experiencing classic GERD, slightly worst due to stress...good luck on Saturday!
