I am a new fundie and have a few questions. First thanks to everybody who posts here. I was afraid after a general inquiry online about it and reading success stories really helped. I am pleasantly surprised at how well I feel at just 6 days post op. I am wondering should I be sleeping laying flat or sitting up a bit. I am sleeping on a wedge pillow with a feather pillow for my neck on top. I want to do which ever is best for the wrap. I am going slow on eating and it's just 1 ensure, a little apple juice, a half yogurt and a small cup of broth with the half inch noodles for a whole days worth of food. Not all that everyday as I feel pressure in my chest when I swallow so it's hard to get anything much down at a time. Delicate question: when should I expect a bowel movement ? It's been a week... Although I don't feel the urge to go so... Last, a yucky white tongue I assume from antibiotics in the IV. Will the yogurt help or do I need a prescription to get rid of that. Looking forward to hearing from all the wonderful people here.

Hi Mello!

I'm glad you're feeling so well 6 days out, I'm only 13 days out myself. I've been able to sleep flat with no discomfort, I think whatever is most comfortable for you is fine.

As for your delicate question, I finally had a bowel movement around one week after, although I went off my pain medication for 24 hours for it to happen. If you are still on pain meds it probably won't happen until you've been off them for a bit.

Please keep us updated on your progress!
