I have had gastritis for about 6 months now without H pylori, I want to know if others with gastritis can feel the fluids hitting stomach (hot or cold mostly) when drinking fluids on an empty stomach? It's a tingling feeling mostly with cold water.

I've had gastritis for 5 months now too. Yes I definitely feel water, don't feel it hitting as such but cold water can really irritate my stomach, I pretty much only drink warm water, boil the kettle and put half hot and top up with cold.

Hello Andy- so what kind of meds are you on now? I just started taking nexium a few weeks ago and I think it helps but, this week it has kind of flared up again. I'm taking all kinda of stuff for it and it still flares up even eating the right stuff, it's really hard to get rid of! Sometimes I wonder if it'll ever go away. Are you seeing any progress?

Hi,

Yes I also have the ability to track a hot or cold drink all the way down! I drink hot water topped up with cold most of the time and hardly ever have ice cream. However, I also have hypersensitivity of the oesophagus so I don't know how much is that and how much is the gastritis which I also have (mild whenever tested).

Yeah it's a weird feeling! So how long have you had gastritis mmm? What meds or natural supplements are you taking for it?

At times, almost immediately right after I drink hot fluids I get stomach pain. It's somewhat better, but I am still not back to normal.

Hello dorri- so I guess chamomile or ginger tea doesn't feel good for you then hah? I drink those 2 teas every day, it soothes my stomach somewhat. The only thing that takes the pain away most of the time when it flares up is slippery elm powder mixed in water to a thick substance and drink it down fast. I do this 2-3 times a day, 2 hours from the nexium and Zantac I take as well. I've had this 6 months now and it sure is tough to get rid of, still have flare ups! How long have you had gastritis?
