I'm nothing if not determined to prove I have LPR reflux, as I simply cannot return to a normal lifestyle/diet without suffering through and through. Any evidence at all would go a long way for me to get LINK surgery! JustPassingThrough's Facebook page mentions an Exhaled Breath Condensate test for reflux, but I'm not sure of the details and searching it makes me more confused..! According to the staff at Peptest, it probably wouldn't find anything different from my spit tests and impedance. Is that true? If not, is there anyone in the UK who does this test?

Daxter, if you really want to know if you have LPR may I recommend eating a bunch of yoghurt and ice cream - this is very acidic and if refluxed into your throat will cause redness and hoarseness for a few days.

I did not have any redness cough or hoarseness but had feelings of strangulation and tightness then dysphagia - it was only after eating the above I got the redness then the ENT consultant changed his mind!

Never heard of the test you have mentioned sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Daxter the peptest is the EBC test. We are in the US and we had the EBC done and paid great expense to send it to UK for processing. We had to breathe into tubes that caught the moisture out of your exhaling breathes .

Yes I decided to regress to a poor diet for a few days, dairy included, and now my throat and ears hurt like hell all the time. Aloe Vera and Manuka Honey are making them worse-! Trouble is I can't afford any more spit tests/impedance studies. So I'm stuck like this for life?
