Hello everyone,
Come November 7th I will be having another endoscopy where they will dilate my esophagus and also do a pH study as well. Has anyone had this done before how was it? I've also found out that I have an irregular z line in the esophagus. Does anyone else have this as well?

Well the dilatation can give you a sore throat for a day or so. Not a bad one, just irritated. Usually you won't be allowed to eat solid food for several hours after, just soft. I usually just wanted something cold like a malt anyway afterwards.

The PH study is another thing...Depending on which one they do. If it's the Bravo it can be quite irritating in the throat. It clips to the lining inside. Now the wire probe one is irritating in general. The wire is uncomfortable and can pull at times in the nose. Especially when swallowing. It helps to hold the wire when swallowing.

I have done each of these several times and while not enjoyable, it's doable.

Take care,
