I have to go on PPIs for chronic heartburn. Tried all the usual natural approaches to cure it and nothing helps - so PPIs and then maybe Linx surgery next year.

I've been on PPIs for a short spell before and I had digestive problems and got some SIBO.

Can anyone tell me the best way via supplements etc to help digest food properly while on PPIs?

Gut instinct (no pun intended) tells me supplementing with betaine HCL and pepsin would be a good idea as the acid would only be temporary and pass into my small insetting before it could cause heartburn?

Also how about digestive enzymes and probiotics whilst on PPIs?

Any information or pointers to research / info sources on this would be very much appreciated!

I was on PPIs for 20 years and recently had LINX. While on PPIs my digestion and general gut health was not good. I tried everything. Minimal dairy seemed to help, probiotics seemed to help some.

Thanks for the reply DST. 20 years on PPIs is quite an achievement! I'm sure the LINX must helped you a lot. Hopefully get mine next summer. How would rate the LINX so far? How was the recovery?
