I have been hearing about using organic apple cider vinegar for heartburn/reflux.  Has anyone used it with promising results?

It worked for me this summer for two months. Then it all came back and now I am back on nexium and the vinegar burns me. I felt great for two months tho. I mixed it in water. Took 2-3 times a day. Really helped for a while.

Julie,
I have tried this regimen in addtion to my meds on occasion & appeared to have helped. I personally don't believe this would work continously for me w/o meds.

I have a Colleague that lives by this regimen along w/Honey. He says that it has completely eradicated HB in him. Hey, He also uses it for Arithritis & any other ailment he might have. LOL I believe that these remedies may actually work in some but not everyone. Maybe, it all depends on the degree of one's Reflux/Gerd.

Just my thoughts!

Thanks, it just sounds scary putting acid into an already "burning" system! I am willing to try anything!

I don't recommend taking apple cidear vinegar because vinegar is very acidic to your stomache. What helps is the fermented apples. What's better is cultured cabbage juice or cultured yogurt. http://www.newmediaexplorer.org/chris/2003/09/18/cultu_cabbage_juice_make_the_best_lactobacteria.htm

it's a bacteria problem. Best to go on a no grain diet really which is wheat products, rice, soy, and corn.
It will take some time stop consuming grains but don't give up. Just start reducing slowly. I wouldn't eat meat either I eat almonds that are soaked overnight. You can make almond bread from almond flour.
Best to eat a lot of vegetables and some fruits.

Good luck.
